Florida Athletic Club

The Florida Athletic Club (FAC) was formed in 1988 as the only State-Wide club in Florida. Athletes of all ages and abilities are welcome. Our club is now the best Masters (30+) track and field club in the country, having just won the National Team Championship by over 100 points. We accomplished this with only 20% of our members competing.

In 2008, the North American Championships will be held in Clermont. In 2009, the National Championships will be held in Clermont.

FAC sponsors track meets, weight pentathlons, road races and race walking events. Our members range from “back of the packers” to State, Regional, National and World Champions.

In 2006, FAC took second in the National Masters Outdoor Track & Field Team Championships. In 2007 we took second in the National Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships. Our club has always finished in the top five in National Masters Track & Field team competition.

FAC sponsors track meets, each month, in Clermont and South Florida, from, January through June, plus State Championships in Race Walking and Track & Field. Youth events will be included in the track meets.

FAC is a member club of USA Track & Field. Eight of our club members serve on the USATF Florida Executive Committee. FAC members serve on various national and international committees.

We have a charitable designation. FAC publishes a bi-monthly newsletter which provides entry forms, training tips, results and general information. New members receive a club patch.

We plan to have a full time Executive Director, plus providing some travel money for National Championships in Youth, Masters, Road Running and Race Walking. Reduced entry fees for club members are also being planned.

As a club member, in addition to the fun and camaraderie of belonging to a team, you will be contrib.-

uting to State-Wide programs through the club’s sponsorship of events. Our dues are $20 per year.
