THIS AND THAT

It is with great sadness that we heard from John Von Rohr that he tore his labrum in his left shoulder and has to permanently retire from competition.

When John lived in Florida he was the driving force in hosting a Weight Pentathlon. Upon moving to North Carolina he also developed the weight pentathlon.

He will be missed

APRIL 26^th FAC MEET #3

In order to break even on these meets the club sponsors in South Florida, we need at least 30 competitors. We’ve been able to do that for the first two meets due to the participation of Pope John H.S.Now that the H.S. Thanks to coach Nate Robinson.

Now that the H.S> season is underway coach Robinson’s team will not be competing.

SO, WE NEED THE FULL PARTICIPATION OF ALL OF OUR CLUB MEMBERS IN SOUTH FLORIDA

MACCABI GAMES. Member Ron Fellman, is seeking elite Jewish athletes to recruit for the Maccabi Games in Israel (also known a, “The Jewish Olympics”) The Games will bring together Jewish athletes from over 60 countries. Rob Fellman, a well-known businessman, is the Chairman of the Maccabi, USA Track and Field. He is seeking athletes and coaches to compete in the world’s third largest international sporting event. Track and Field will have an Open and Juniors competition. Accordingly, there will be a Masters division in the half-marathon. The competition will be held in the summer of 2009.
